I got into building because I saw someone else's system in January, thought "that's the coolest thing I've ever seen, I want one", then went away and figured out how to build my own. All I needed was the inspiration, a few basic principles, and the curiosity and interest to do it. I have since passed on the bug to many of my friends, family, and cohort, and am on a mission to spread it further.

The fact that my family group chat has turned into a marketplace for spare capacity on our Claude Max budgets is an unfortunate consequence of this that I am willing to accept.
